The M500 has double heat shields on each handguard.  I removed one of them on the bottom due to the fact that it made the handguard seat better to the top one. Should I put it back on? Thanks, Greg.

Greg,
If it really seems like the handguard is "off" then contact SureFire for replacement.  They stand behind their stuff and their customer service is pretty good.

Besides, we pay enough for their products, they should work and fit right.

Its not the heatsheilds. Everyone thinks the M500's dont fit well when they try to install them at first. I thihk if you read the directions, you'll see that you are supposed to take a rubber mallet and give the handgaurds a few firm taps towards the rear to seat them. Put a phone book or something like that on the handgaurds and then hit the book with the mattle for a little security. Dont remove tha heatsheilds though.
