Anyone have an Suppressed AR 6.8?  W/ all the 6.8 threads to whore the tech board the last couple hours I've just been thinking about it and didn't want to hijack someone else's thread.  Thanks.

BTW I'm just wondering how well of a suppression happens compared to 5.56.

I just use my .30 cal can on my 6.8mm. Works fine for me. I haven't tried any subsonic ammo yet, but hope to try some soon.  I haven't shot a suppressed 5.56 side be side with my 6.8, but I'd be willing to bet the 6.8 "seems" quieter than the 5.56.

It probably has a slightly lower pitch than the 5.56, which would allow the sound to travel further, but not sound like a gun shot, but more like a thump.

Thanks.  You just really don't hear many ppl talking about suppressing their 6.8's (probably b/c they're not readily out there yet..the uppers I mean)

I've been using an AAC 6.8 suppressor for about a year now and like it alot.

It sounds like a SCAR-SD.

Looks great.  Wish I had a 6.8....prices of 6.8 aren't exactly friendly though...and neither is IL towards NFA/III items.

With current 5.56 prices, the 6.8 is not that far off. It's maybe 20% more.

I also gave a link to some video of mine that you might like. Just remember that video is a very poor representation of sound.

You bring up a good point.  I'm a grad student right now so maybe after I get hired somewhere a 6.8 may be in my immediate future.  Thanks for the vid.

BTW in that vid (just watched it...bad ass!!) is that echoing I'm hearing or are those sonic booms?

Sonic booms bouncing off the treeline.

I have shot silentbushmasters sbr 6.8 with m4-2000 in 6.8 and also with his 762sd can and it sounded good with both.

I'm hoping the Form 4 for my 6.8mm AAC M4-2000 will be back in the next week or so(tomorrow will be one month).  I'll post some results after I get it.  Primary use will be on an LWRC 10.5" SRT and a 16" mid-length carbine.

Sounds sweet...oh did I mention I'm not to be trusted w/ SBR's either?

Can't wait to read the reviews and drool over the pics here or on LF.
