Has anyone had any experience with Superior Arms lowers?  I see they are cheap, but just because they are cheap doesn’t mean they are a good deal.  Has anyone had any problems with tolerances, metal fatigue, milling problems?  Any general or technical input will be appreciated.

Thanks

I only have one.  It has  been just as nice as my Stag, and Spikes Tactical lowers as far as fit goes.  The finish on mine is a bit rougher in texture than the others, but I have heard that this may have changed since I bought mine.  It is still a nice dark, thick and even finish, and functionally it is just as nice as any of the others.

A Couple of noteable differences are:
-the front takedown pin detent hole is drilled a bit deeper than most other lowers.  This makes installation of the  front takedown pin/detent/spring a touch easier than it was on the other lowers.  It still functions just as well but makes assmebly so much nicer.
-The lower is also drilled and tapped for a screw to adjust the trigger take-up.  This is an additonal feature that you may or may not be interested in, but it's there.

Yep got one in a group buy on another board and the machine work looks like shit, the hole for the roll pin on the trigger guard was drilled at an angle.

I was very unimpressed and will never purchase a Superior lower ever again.

Looking like shit I mean machine marks all on the inside of the trigger guard. They were also duracoated that turned out feeling like sandpaper so either the machining under the finish was crap or the finish is crap we never got an explanation as to which.

Take my experience for what it's worth, others seem to be happy I'm not. If I tear something up or break something that is one thing but I didn't pay for it, at an inflated price for what we got, to get something that looks worse than a $105 Stag or whatever the prices are running around for those.

ETA: Clarifying on the finish I don't know if they did the Duracoat or someone else so I don't necessarily lay the blame with that one them. There were more problems with those lowers than an abuse step kid on crack.

I have a Superior lower that is a couple of years old.  It's fit and function are similar to any other mid tier lower.  It won't take a PMAG or Thermold due to a slightly curved front strap.  I understand Superior has resolved this with their newer lowers.

CS223, who does my engraving for my SBRs, mentioned that the texture on mine made it difficult to work on.  However, this is an older Superior lower, and it has no effect on performance.  These issues may have since been corrected.

I've had three and they worked great.  Finish was a bit gritty, but they all shot great with Zero Issues so I am a happy camper!

they are great lowers for the price imo; the finish is a rougher dull park (instead of the teflon) that eats up the CLP
