Its a target profile barrel that someone cut down and configured for mid length. It's f'in heavy.

Should I get it fluted, or replace it with a 16" and mill out the pin to get my brake back?

Give me a link to a good 16" mid length if so.

Basically I'm $130 for twisted to flute it + shipping both ways.

Do you know what brand barrel it is ?

If it shoots stellar tiny groups... then I would consider fluting it.

And maybe save up for a complete upper from a Labor Day sale.

I have no clue how it actually shoots for groups. I've just been using it for plinking when I built a panic 308 back in 2012.
