I have a Tasco SS, but no TRC/TRR.
Since you mentioned the above, I thought I'd give you somethign to consider.
The Tasco SS is a darn nice optic, especially for the price. However, I have mine mounted on a bolt gun that is exclusively used as a target rifle, mostly for working up loads.
Because it is a fixed 10X optic, I feel it is a very poor choice for an AR unless you only plan to shoot from the bench. If you plan to do any off-hand firing, and certainly if you plan to carry this rifle in the field at all, you'll quickly find that 10X is way too much magnification to be useful. You'll have a tiny field of view, and it will take forever to get the rifle pointed at your target.
I would honestly much rather have a base-model 3-9X VX-II for an AR over the Tasco SS, and the VX-II is about $30 less. The fact that you can crank the magnification down to 3X for most use, but up to 9X if you need to do some fixed, long-range shooting, is more than worth the trade-off, unless, again, you'll only be shooting at the bench.
The MR/T is an awesome scope, but you don't HAVE to have all of those extra features to have a very useable optic, though it's great to have them if you can afford it.
