Ya know those big long sun shades you can add to your scopes?  I know what the advantages are to having one, but what are the disadvantages?

Not much as long as used on the right rifle.

The weight addition is tiny.

I was thinking it might cause dark edges to the image when the scope is cranked down to lower magnifications (2x).
