This stock buttplate is eating me alive. The recoil is nothing, its the "steak knife" edges on the buttplate that are killing me. Any ideas on aftermarket buttplates or mods for standard A2 buttplate? It doesn't have to have the trapdoor. Any help is appreciated...

Try an A1 buttplate.  They are available on the surplus/gunshow market.

Heck I've got one if you were interested in a trade.
