Georgia Arms sells the stuff in bulk. It runs about $85 + shipping for 500 rounds. Tried the stuff and it was very good in my 9MM carbine.

Thanks on the GA suggestion. Has anyone tried "Lawmen". Does Wally world sell 147 gr?

I can load 1000 for that there $85.  Wal-Mart carries a couple flavor of 147gr ammo, typically hollow point for self defense, @ $15+ for 50 round, gets hard on the wallet quickley for blasting ammo. Heard rumor you might find Winchester USA in the 147gr, but you have to check the inventory of the particular store. |

Just FYI, I use a single stage press, reload a half hour a day and that nets me 1000 rounds or better a month. $85.00 a thousand sounds about right. Of course, I'm not shooting the machine guns every month, but still, that covers all of my shooting needs.

Look in any common load manual, they typically list velocities to 1000 fps... anything under 1050 fps maximum is safely considered "sub-sonic". I load and chrono for the 975/990 fps range. |

Holy BALLSACK!
I picked up 2000rds of subsonic 9mm and got suckered for the GO club. I figure if my phantom 1911 ever comes home from the smith and holster maker working I might be just un-broke enough to squeeze the wallet really tight and buy a case of Wolf to stoke it with!.. 1911 $4500 1000rds of wolf $140 Shooting the 1911 Priceless Having the 1911in your hand [What are you NUTS!> Your not that lucky] |

Yeah and I bought some-- I don't get your point. If you are looking around you aren't going to find a cheaper source than the sportsmans guide. I was looking for hours and the best I found was $140 a 1000-- I gave up-- then saw this a few weeks later this price bested that by $140 by $20. If you want to do better you'll need to load your own. |

Sorry if I erred but your emphasis on your 1911 created my confusion. It looks to me like you bought 1000 rounds for your 1911. I guess I didn't consider it was chambered for 9mm. Bomber |

Ive been having a good time coming up with my own subsonic loads. My friends make fun of me for pickin up 9mm brass but oh well. I save a bunch of cash and I get some ammo that I feel is better then the cheapest bulk stuff.
For the guys that think they dont have time, an hour a week is all I need with my dillon and i have more then enough blasting ammo. |

My buddies laugh at me too when I pick up brass but it has saved enough cash to feed my NFA bug so they can laugh all they want! Reload is the best way to do it, cheapest and very rewarding as well.matt |
