Should the magzine drop free when the catch is pressed, or should it need to be pulled free?

Thanks,
Tim

It should drop free. Olympics sometimes have tight magwells, and PRI 6.8 mags sometimes need to be tweaked to drop free.

No, I have to give it a pretty good yank to get it out.

I only have one at the moment, I have several more on order - should have them sometime next week.

The one I have is an Adventure Line 20 round.

No such thing as a stupid question...only a stupid person asking the question J/K

Alot of mags are different but you should not need to yank anything out, it should drop freely.

There is a procedure for magazines with slight bulges that returns them to drop free status. It requies you putting the magazine in a vice and squeezing it a little at a time till it drops free (test it frequently).

Yeah, I wasn't going to do any mods' to the mag until I got the new ones to try.

My mag well measures right about 0.910" in width, at least as far in as my micrometer will go.

I looked at a recv'r blueprint that was posted somewhere else on this site, but I don't know how to read it.

NO,
NO,
and

Three different mags, all three must be pulled free.

Thanks, tweak.

One last question: Would the brand of magazine have anything to do with it, or are they pretty consistent in size?

Tim

ETA: the three that I have are all Adventureline

I used to have a DPMS lower that would'nt drop all my mags. I took some very fine sandpaper and sanded the inside of the magwell. Looked like it had overspay of teflon or something in it. Worked like a charm after that.
