Is it OK to store AR's Muzzle down inside my safe?

I can fit several more rifles inside if my AR's are pointed down. I can see some lube maybe making its way to the barrel, but when i store pointed up, some lube gets in the buffer tube also.  I always run a patch through the barrel before shooting anyway.

GTG, store it upside down, on its side, anyway you want, AR's like it wet, dont worry about lube running.

Why? It isn't some prissy FUDD gun that has to be cleaned every 15 minutes with bat guano and tears from a rattle snake. I have some that are in cosmoline, in a plastic bag buried in a section of PVC tube @ 6ft under ground with cases of MRE's and half a brazillion rounds for the awaiting Zombie apocalypse.

They have a flash hider that protects the crown on the muzzle. Like I said, this ain't some prissy fudd gun.

I usually store mine muzzle down. I like the way it fits in my safe and after cleaning any extra oil that seeps out of the bolt will run down the barrel instead of the buffer tube, not that that's a big deal I just prefer to do it this way....

It doesn't matter, either way is GTG

If excessively oiled in the bore, the oil can run down and end up in the firing pin channel.
Oil eventually turns to grease. If stored long enough and the bore wet enough with oil, you will have a chance of a sticking firing pin.
It's happened quite a bit with SKS in the past.

I would not worry about it. I have been storing AR's in my safes muzzles down for 20+ years. Armalites, Colts, carbines, SPR, etc.
I keep them well lubed but not dripping wet and fire them regularly from the safe. My Colt HBAR was in the safe for just over 4 years with out being fired and went bang no problem.
Store with confidence.

Just make sure the barrel is NOT plugged up in any way.  Moisture needs a way out.  As long as the barrel is allowed to vent its all good to go.

I usually story mine muzzle down, otherwise the lube runs out between the lower and upper if I don't.

I store mine muzzle down.  I like to be able to get to the weapon and rack the charging handle with the muzzle still on the floor to make sure its clear and safe, then pick it up.  That's just me though.

The 1st AR I can get to in the safe is loaded ALL the time.  Muzzle is down

Same for two hand guns.

Think prepositioning of arms, munitions, fuel, food, supplies and spares (kinda like what the .mil does) in the unlikely event of TEOTWAWKI.

LOL!!! Now that I read it like that its funny.  What I  meant / was thinking is I have a large track of property and I regularly will take my gun directly from the safe out the back door and fire it.
Oh and yes my safe is big but not that big
