I just picked up my new Stag Model 3. With an empty mag (all of them not just one) the bolt fails to hold open on an empty mag. It looks like the both ctach is just a bit tight. Is this common and will it loosen up a bit over time??

Can you press the catch at the bottom and lock your bolt when you pull the charging handle back and release the bolt when you
cycle the bolt? ie does it lock then? lots of ifs here, best to call Stag

Try cleaning the upper with some solvent, wipe clean, then add copious amounts of lube (CLP) to anything that moves in the rifle.

Did you replace the stock or buffer?

The botl will lock back manually and after working the bolt catch a ton of times it seems to be getting better. I think the packing grease just had it gummed up.

Sounds like you got some "extra" finish on your bolt catch. Use common sense, sounds like you are GTG
