Does steel cased ammo cause undo harm and wear to the rifles chamber? How about an unlined chamber? I havent had any trouble, I just want to avoid it!

No it is soft steel. Shoot the Wolf with no worries.

If your chamber gets harmed by Wolf Steel cases then you've got a bad barrel and should get a replacement ASAP!

Steel cased ammo might increase chamber wear slightly. However, I’ve never actually heard of an AR-15 having a problem with chamber wear. The rifling will wear out long before the chamber.

Wolf ammo isn’t nearly as hot as military grade 5.56mm, it’s not even as hot as most commercial .223. That means it won’t put nearly as much wear on a barrel as XM193 or Q3131 will.

I’ve also heard that steel ammo can increase extractor wear. This might be true too. But an extractor is a fairly cheap part and it’s very easy to replace. I’ll gladly accept a 10% reduction in the life of a $5.00 part to save $50.00 per thousand on ammo costs.

But all of this is assuming that Steel cased ammo really does increase chamber and extractor wear. And I’ve not seen any tests one way or another to prove or disprove it, just a lot of speculation.
