Greetings,
I have just received a complete lower (RRA), and it has several dark splotches on the stock. I am assuming this is sometype of oil or preservative that has drained from the receiver onto the stock during shipping.

Is this normal? It appears the plastic used on the stock is very porous. Any way I can get rid of these spots?

All responses greatly appreciated!

Don't get rid of it, make the entire stock that dark color.
Spray the whole stock with WD-40, leave it on overnight and rub anything left off with a dark colored cloth. You could also use CLP, applied with a rag or sponge, and do the same. You"re set!

I had suspected I may have to "stain" the rest of the stock with some type of oil...if it works, no big deal. I noticed Some BM stocks at the gunshow today that also had some of these stains on the stock.
