I am building some mid length uppers in the near future.  Currently, all my barrels are an assortment of 16" and 20" 1x7 and 1x9 chrome lined government profiles.  I want to build something more accurate.  All I need is the rail and barrel, the rest of the parts i have.  What are your thoughts and experiences with stainless barrels?  Barrel life?  What is the difference between match vs 410 stainless steel?  Wylde chamber vs 5.56?

CTSupply has an interesting barrel (I also see he's getting out of the business ):

Can't forget Dennysguns:

Thanks.

I just got one of Dennys Recon bbls, and I like it.  It will shoot sub MOA, but I'm new to scopes and I've only been able to shoot 1 moa.  In my last range visit I put 4 shots in the size of a quarter (@ 100yds), and I pulled the last one straight down by an inch.  I'm sure after some practice, and a new (better) scope I'll be shooting better.  You won't regret getting one from Denny.  They are very nice.

I bought a stainless upper with a 16" barrell from Military Gun Supply in Dallas and set it on a Bushy lower using a RRA Natl match trigger.  No suppressor just plain barrell, which was crowned.  After breakin, it would consitantly shoot 1 to 1 1/2 in groups all day.  It stayed fairly clean and was easy to clean.  I don't know about other areas, but it seems like here in the DFW area uppers with SS barrells are easier to sell.  Otherwise I liked the SS, plus it doesn't marr up as fast as a normal barrell.

dont forget adco and jtac.  cts had one that was fluted in front of the gas block as well.  wylde chambers will handle 5.56.
