I know, been talked about dozens of times but this is a review of a particular CW sold by a particular company, which I have absolutely no affiliation with.
 A friend of mine wanted to use them on a .260 build (5/8) and ordered some off Amazon, a company called GRG MFG.  link.
I told him that I had heard that they would not crush like normal crush washers and as it turned out, they did not work for his application of a brake.  Looked goofy with the brake so he used shims.  Anyway, he gave me three of them to try on three of my rifles which had 24 inch stainless barrels with Phantom FS.  Well, I really did not expect much but much to my surprise, they crushed just as easy, if not easier, than the YHM crush washers I have been using for decades.  Indexing could not have been easier and I did not need to thin the CW on the 6.5 G like I had to do with the standard washer.  Honestly I am impressed with these and am going to order ten more in 5/8 and ½ inch.
I don't know if other stainless steel crush washers manufactured and sold by other people will work or not but at least this batch sold by this company does an excellent job of crushing, if one is so inclined to want to use SS crush washers.
