I've asked this question to other AR shooters with various opinions. Is it worth all the hassle of cleaning between single rounds during the "break in" stage? I know about the less fouling issue. But I never did this with my stainless bolt rifles, or with match grade m14 rifles, of which served well in Pac-Fleet matches. I put 50 rounds through a new stainless Bushy after assembly without the "break in". It seemed to clean up fine.

Barrel break-in is a frequent source of arguments here. Below are several somewhat repetitive threads dealing with the topic: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=209685&w=searchPop www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=173191&w=searchPop www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=170855&w=searchPop www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=7&t=169851&w=searchPop www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=165113&w=searchPop I know of no compelling proof that it either does or does not have merit.
