I just got a buttstock assembly in from Model "1" sales. I'm a little disappointed... The buttstock is very gray. I have all of the rest of the buttstock assembly, does anyone know a source for a REALLY BLACK stripped buttstock? Thanks.

Have you tried to clean the stock with CLP? That normally will darken the stock to a uniform black. Buff the stock with a black t-shirt and a liberal amount of CLP and see if that doesn't make a difference... All the stocks I've gotten from Bushmaster were a deep black after the CLP cleaning... In my experience, the Bushmaster parts are of a much higher quality than the Model 1/J&T items... May be worth a try if the CLP trick doesn't do the job. You could also try and paint the stock black if you don't want to order another one from Bushy...

If you don't mind the shorter length, an old A1/M16 stock will be black and not the gray color that the A2 stocks are. One place to get them would be: http://www.fireflyarms.com/dept.asp?did=4

You could always get the really black stock that comes in a paint can...
