I've been really busy (still am), so I'm slow getting this posted, but... A guy came by my shop a couple months ago with a carboard box full of old parts.  When he dumped them out on my bench, my jaw dropped.  A bunch of Stoner 63 stuff!  I'm restoring the handguard and grip.

With his permission, some photos are attached.

Mondo groovy John! Sad these parts were part of a Captain Crunch mutilation. Thanks for sharing.

From what very little I've read that was a pretty good weapon/ weapons system. Seemed to have a lot of configurations. Any knowledge as to why it didn't become more successful?

Knowing you, John, you'll have that up and running again in a couple of months!

Wow, I'd love to have one of the cut off barrels.
What's the plan with this stuff?

The parts are not mine, they are still with the guy that brought them (other than the grip and handgaurd).  Believe it or not, the plan is to one day have an operational firearm.  There are several overlapping parts that can be saw-cut and re-welded.

Very cool! Hey, two barrel stubs with front sight bases and flash hiders means two possible builds!! I notice that those flash hiders look pretty similar to those used on the CETME. Coincidence?

Thanks for sharing pics with us JT  Any chance of you making some repro's of the FSB and FH?  I'm sure I'm not the only M96 owner who's interested.

What's the purpose of the hoe in the bottom of the hand guard?
I know the later models had a vertical charging handle relocated
There , but there is no slot for it to move so that's not it

I have always hoped that Reed Knight would have mercy in
his heart, and reproduce that gorgeous gun for we lowly civvies.

Thanks for sharing the pics John Thomas!

What sick puppy would do such a thing?

That's a war crime right there.

Glad it's in good hands, and looking forward to the end results.  Not going to be easy.

I don't suppose he would be willing to sell off a flash hider or two for one of my spare barrels?
