What are my options to increase my range and accuracy of the weapon?  What is a good caliber upgrade?

I can put an 5.56 bullet in the X ring of a 1000yd target with my 20" Service Rifle.

Do you need more range and accuracy than that?

What do you want to do?

Okay... that is f---ing extreme. hat
What grain bullet are you using?

I was just trying to get knock down power and range of a .308... I also wanted to build a Mk12 Mod 0 look-a-like but off an AR15.

At most, I will be engaging steel plates out to 700 yards at the most...

A 20" barreled 5.56 with 77gr ammo will hit a paper plate at 700yds if the person pulling the trigger is capable.

Excellent...

Thanks for the info!

Let's say IF the person pulling the trigger was capable, How would a 16" barreled 5.56 do at 700 yards?  How about 600 or 300 yards?  Just wondering...

This thread reminds me that I need more practice...and then some more.
