Nice rifles, nice shooting.  3 shot groups are for girls.  Five shot groups are for sissy boys.

Step up and challenge yourself and your rifle.  Go for ten, fifteen.  Hell, while you're at it, go for the whole mag, be it a 20 or 30 rounder.  Make it two mags.

I've found ten shot groups to be extremely challenging and frustrating.  It is hard to concentrate for that long of a time and get good results, especially when you're on shot 8, 9 or 10 and you know for a fact there is still only one, large, ragged hole downrage just waiting for you to screw it up.

PS:  Just joking on the group thing, but it is obviously more challenging to use larger groups for your personal discipline, but 3-5 will show you what the rifle is capable of, within reason.

Huh?  Are you saying the actual barrel itself is shorter?

Wow.  Im trying to visualize how that could work considering that they both interface off the same bolt carrier group.

I know this occurs with the Colt 9mm ARs, but thats because it lacks a rotating bolt head.

Sounds like a fun day out.  Now that I no longer have school to worry about, you'll have to let me know the next time you head out to the range.  Too bad Kerri had to miss it.

Hmmm, RECCE....

It is rather strange what you mentioned about the length difference between them...

I wouldn't think the lack of a barrel nut would make any difference but who knows, keep us posted on your findings.

20 shoot groups on MR-31 targets at 100yds works for me.

Great pics and good shooting new-arguy!!!

Some men still like to measure from the base of the shaft which always adds a little length...

It should'nt,The ATF measures a barrel from the bolt face to the end of the muzzle.I just put a cleaning rod down the bore of my Llija RECCE with a closed bolt and my barrel dose indeed measure 16.5".SJR556.

You could make the barrel nut the full length of the handguard and it still won't change where the muzzle lands.  The barrel will be tightened up to the receiver, just like always.
