With that being legal why dont they make a brace that works on a rifle buffer tube?  Would make ar15 pistol to sbr or rifle so much easier.  Random thoughts.

Is there any reason a Shockwave WON'T work on a rifle buffer? I've not tried it, but looks like it would slip right on just like a pistol buffer tube.

But as for overall length, I got the shockwave & KAK tube with the indents and I set mine just an inch shorter than how I use my M4 stock which was on the third detent from fully collapsed, I think there was still like 6 inches of travel which  would put it longer than an A2 stock.

The new collapsible stock is slick but it costs about what I have in my complete pistol now with a Shockwave.

Is that a locking screw sticking out on the bottom of the tube on that Maxim item?  Maybe rather than a screw on the Shockwave that requires an allen wrench to manipulate, one could find a thumbwheel with the same threads for quicker adjustments?  My gosh, $400 for that stock seems fairly extreme.

Yeah $400 is way expensive, You could do a qd thumbwheel somehow but I was just thinking making it with a adjustable button like on a normal stock and use rifle buffer tube.  Just seems like it would be easier to adjust for different people arms for using it as a brace.

I suppose you mean adjustable carbine tube. As someone else mentioned, you could already use one on a rifle tube, although you'd have to secure the takedown detente/pin or use self contained replacement pin.

My guess is that their POV is simply that it would be a bit too "edgy", no sense poking the bear when things are going so well.
