About 15 years ago I was in a shop that specialized in precision rifles and such. The owner had a match/set trigger on his personal AR. I have no idea who made it, and never bought the spare he had because at that time it was out of reach as far as price goes.

The one he had , you pushed the safety foward and it put the trigger into a super light mode that was incredible. If you did not set the trigger, it would work at standard pull weight like a any trigger.

Does anyone know of a set trigger setup like this? Any experience with one?

I'd like something drop-in if possible.

I could only find this one company. I have not called them as of yet but it looks like they want the lower sent to them as well.

Thanks for any help provided.

I had a gunsmith friend do a set trigger on my Colt H-Bar many years ago.  He drilled another detent in the selector in between SAFE and FIRE.  You pulled the trigger in the middle detent position and it let off a few pounds (you could feel and hear the click) then move the selector to FIRE and the trigger pull was ~ 1-2 lbs.  I much prefer my Timney 3 lb to a set trigger.  Much more reliable.
