I'm fairly certain they went out of business in 1995, with some of the family members taking over the parts business as Model 1 Sales and M&A Parts.
I'm not sure when they started, though. If you're getting at the pre-ban vs. post-ban thing, then you should know that there were both. SOME of the post-bans are marked with a circle on the lower, but the lack of a circle is not a guarantee of a pre-ban. Presence of a circle IS a guarantee of a post-ban, though. -Troy |

12/82 - 12/95
M15A1 lowers for Rock Island Armory beginning in December 1982 with serial number 100001. Sendra XM15A1 lowers begin in December 1982 with serial number 000100 ending with 09166 on XM15E2 lower in April 1989. More XM15E2 lowers produced in December 1995 before going out of business, all have serial numbers starting with 10xxx, some with an "A" or "B" suffix. So the Sendra numbers are 5 digits - if the first one is a "0" it was made well before the ban. If the first number is a "1" it's post ban production. I haven't learned anything about the circle so I can't help you with that part and I haven't done any research on Nesard, which is Sendra with the letters rearranged. |

So want you are saying is that if someone had a lower that is marked M15A1 with a serial number like 101XXX it would be on of the first 2000 lowers that Sendra made? If it has Rock Island Armory stamp on it was it made by them for Sendra or made by Sendra for Rock Island? Thanks for the help. |
