I got my lower and LPK back from Norrels and sat down this afternoon to put together my semi-auto M16A1 clone. The upper(from CDNN), buttstock assembly(came with upper from CDNN) and pistol grip are all Colt. The lower is RRA while the bolt assembly and LPK are no name. This is going to be a plinker more than anything and I plan to put a Ciener .22LR conversion unit in it before long. When my sister brings the girls to town next time I will take my oldest niece and my Marine brother-in-law to the range with The Mutt and this new toy.

5 megapixels and a neutral background on the deck make for pretty good pics. If I had some good reflectors I could get rid of the shadows and perk them up a bit more. Natural light and overcast skies work the best.

You sir have built the very best there is to have in the M16/AR15 series. Light ,simple, & accurate... Thats what it was all about when Eugene Stoner and company  brought it to the table.. I built one myself and it is myfavorite. You have done very well. Congrads, Old School, WarDawg

It is missing a pin...you know, the one just above the selector.  Oh, wait...damn Wm, Hughes and the anti MG ammendment.

Looks really nice...do you have a ballpark figure for parts and re-finish?

Much obliged, Wardawg.

kingairpilot,

The biggest chunk was the upper from CDNN. $425 shipped but it did come with the buttstock assembly for free. Then $125 for the lower, $50 for the LPK and $100 for the B/C assy and CH, $5 for the A1 grip and $60 for refinishing the lower. $765 total plus about 30 minutes of time this afternoon.

I'll say it again...an outstanding job.  I see some more building in my future.  These things tend to multiply like bunnies, don't they?

Fine job!!!! Mine has a C7 upper with the Colt barrel, with a Bushy lower. pretty sad when I can hit 100 yd targets better than the hunting crowd with thier fancy scopes, with just simple irons.
