would always run subs with the suppressor.

Do also want to run supers with the suppressor sometimes.  Even from a short barrel is there any real need for a selectible gas block given the extreme efficiency of the chambering?

Also, what is a good gas port size to run supers suppressed and non and also subs suppressed for a 9-9.5" barrel?

IMO, an adjustable gas block is only needed if you're going to want absolutely no cyclic action.  In other words, OFF.

I'm not sure of the gas port sizes on 8-10" barrels but since they're going to be in the pistol position you may want to consider picking CMMGs, Core15s, or LMT's brains. I don't know if Noveske or Wilson Combat will reveal such information.

I'd just get a Noveske barrel and be done with the project. Mine runs subs and supers marvelously well.

My 8" Noveske upper (no switchblock) runs everything flawlessly with the suppressor on it.  It has occasional issues with subs when the can is off (which it never is...)

I have a 16 inch smith and wesson 300 and a 8.5 inch cmmg . no problems with either rifle shooting supers or subs , suppressed or not . I think alot of people are looking for a problem to fix . If you reload then it is as simple as finding the right powder for subs and for super sonics. go to the 300 blackout forums you will get the answers you need to your questions.

thx for the replies.  I already have a barrel.  I can't recall the gas port size, but it isn't assembled so I can stick wire gauge bits in it & see.

I would rather not add more moving parts to the gun if not necessary.

I said "selectable" rather than "adjustable" gas block b/c adjustable better describes one that has a set screw or whatever to reduce the gas flow rather than one that you slecect back & forth depending on what you are doing.

Unless you want to shut the gas all the way off, then it is not necessary.

I finally got to take my 9" AAC SBR to the range this morning.  I only shot suoers (mainly just sighting in new optic), but as always, there were no issues.
