Hello Arfcom!

We have streamlined our CMMG compatible 22LR barrel production.  Not only will we have the current 22LR barrel SKUs in stock more often, but we have the capacity to prototype new barrel profiles and lengths.

We need YOUR input.  Please let us know what length and profile 22LR barrels you would like to see.  Thank you!

I wish to build an A2 clone in 22LR, so a 21"ish (20" 5.56 equivalent) barrel with FSB journal at the rifle position would be sweet.

I'd like to see a very accurate barrel that mimics a centerfire 10.5" in length.  Maybe 11.6 or 12 inches?  I'd like it in the Heavy Taper profile for the sake of accuracy.

I don't know the logic behind the 9.2 inch CMMG medium taper.  Lothar Walther made a 10.5 inch barrel, but it was too short for the 10 inch handguards one would use with a centerfire 10.5.

You might also examine making a barrel that is .750 most of the way beyond the first few inches so people can affix gas blocks and handguard caps as they see fit.  My experience with the M4 profile suggests that .750, more or less, is enough barrel to give people satisfactory accuracy.  an 11.6", 16.1" and 21" .750 barrel would cover almost all builds someone would want, except for the ultra short barrel buyers.

If you think we are too dopey to place a gas block properly on an unmarked .750 barrel, you could leave a hash mark for each gas length.

Add another one for a 21" barrel to use for an A1/A2 clone.

my current gun game is Steel Challenge and I shoot a 9" CMMG unit on my SBR... a lot of "entry" level SC shooters with SW 15-22 and Ruger 10/22 have problems with magazines... a set of red rotor 10/22 magazines I had problems with before switching to the CMMG varied .015" front to rear, and the 15-22 magazine rail the thumb button on a friend's warped enough that a cartridge slipped off the follower, was trapped between the mag body and follower, and jammed... my CMMG unit using Black Dog X beam welded stainless feed lip magazines have been exceptionally reliable in the last 2 1/2 years I've been shooting SC

the Tippmann light weight carbine has become a choice for a couple of friends, even though it is heavier than the polymer SW.... they have a replaceable metal feed lip on the magazines, and seem to work pretty reliably

at 75, I've played a lot of gun games, USPSA pistol and 3 gun notably, and like me, most of us old timers have an AR lower with a pretty good trigger lying around...

I think you would find a market for your complete upper kit with your pencil barrel 16" and light weight handguard (  or a short barrel with pin and welded aluminum barrel shroud) and market it to the Steel Challenge shooter....regards Les L747

Yeah, I wouldn't mind something to mimic my 12.5" upper for my SBR. It would be fun for steel challenge!

Probably won't be buying (got my AR 22 set up already and I don't have duplicates of stuff) so feel free to ignore, but ...

I'd like to see options that match commonly available hand guard lengths that would let the barrel end at an appropriate spot to run with just a thread protector or A1/A2 style muzzle device.  With a 4.5" barrel, the shortest commonly available hand guards (between 4" and 4.5") might just be a bit too long to do that....

Gonna be the 1st to put the new Winchester rimfire chambering into production?

I need a pencil left-eject 16", threaded for my Sinister.

I would like more shorter options.
6 to 7.5” range.

I'd love to have an A1 or A2 upper with pencil barrel in 22lr. That or a A1 profile barrel in 16" equivalent to make a dissy

16" .750 (or .625) all the way down, dimples where a gas block shoulder would fit, and a small metal friction fit ring that could be set screwed in place at your choice of location for a shoulder/index for a gas block/sight post. Doing this for say a 16" barrel, you could put dimples at the right spots to match carbine, mid and rifle length gas.  One product, and ginger-mech could make his dissy clone, someone else with the same barrel could do a carbine hand guards, a third could not bother with it and use a free float rail, etc.

I like the way you think

I would buy the straight .750” or .625” barrel. Preferably the lighter one.

But somebody would start complaining about the dimples being exposed on a CAR length build, and there is no need for a movable shoulder. A handguard cap can be attached to the FSB just like a Dissy.

I’d also recommend bringing back the clamp on FSB to go with this straight barrel.

Keep the 4.5 inch blaster barrels rolling

you don't need much of a profile,
in fact the canto kit has a shroud to fatten the profile

I’d love one that mimics a 10.5 gov profile.

Tired of paying to have 22LR M4 barrels cut down to 10.5

How about barrels that mimic your 5.7x28 barrels for firing cheap practice ammo?
