I know this has been discussed already, but I'm pissed about the $2 price jump on the WWB 40 packs. I could understand 50 cents to a dollar, but when Bass Pro Shop is cheaper, than something is wrong. I won't go into wallyworld again. The 223 was the only shit in the place that wasn't made in China anyway.

I am sure that Wal Mart is having an emergency executive meeting to try to cope with the loss of your patronage.

I think natchez has the Win 55 Gr Q3131 in 20 round boxes for like $4 and change...I think it comes out cheaper than the new WW prices..except for shipping.

There are two things that control ammunition prices.

Cost of manufacture. The economy is getting better which means the price of labor is going up. In addition the raw materials and transportation costs are going up significantly.

Supply and demand. There’s a war going on right now and the ammunition factories are devoting more of their resources to supplying the military than to feeding civilian demand. With demand up due to the lifting of the AWB and supply down because of the war the price MUST increase. It’s the law of supply and demand.

WalMart, at least in my area, is doing a good job of providing ammunition to shooters. I really hate it that we can’t get the good deal WalMart was offering us anymore, but they can’t be expected to sell at a loss just to keep us happy.

They probably really took it on the chin when we did the ammo buy back in Nov.  Increasing the price is the only way they are going to be able to keep some sort of inventory on the shelf.

Guess that ammo buy really paid off.

Yeah, thanks guys...

I do not shop there anyhow...

Some how I doubt any arfcom ammo buy did anything to WalMart's pricing strategy.  I doubt they even noticed it... other than some sort of anomoly.

Friday, purchased all they had, 8 boxes, for 7.73 went back today and they have it for 9.98.

I went in there yesterday... they know me of course.  They asked me if I wanted all of their ammo again, and I told them, "nope".  They all looked suprised.  Then one of the guys asked if it was cause of the price hike and i said, "yup."  They said the only reason they keep such a huge inventory is cause I buy so much of it (they always have at least 10 boxes, if not more).  I told them there was no need for that anymore...

They all looked at me like they just lost their best friend.  Sucks too, cause there are 2 girls that work in that department, and they are both real cute.  I'm sure they'll miss me...

It hasn't gone up in upstate SC as of yesterday but they were out of stock since I hit all of them earlier in the week.
I told the manager I won't buy anymore if the price goes up and doubt it would sell.

I wonder if any of you bashing Wal-Mart now, were praising them before the jump in price of ammo. I've seen a lot of folks praising Wal-Mart here, funny how the tides change...

Personally, I don't shop at Walmart.  You need to learn to shop where you get good service and enjoy the atmosphere and are treated respectfully.  It is no savings to me to go to a store I don't like, be treated rudely and have to walk six blocks to save a couple of bucks.

My local Wal Mart started asking for your birthdate regardless of how old you look. Seems like a method of tracking ammo sales to individuals...

I was wondering why they didn't have it on the shelf yesterday.

I guess it was to prepare for the price increase?

Also as a side note, the winchester web site no longer lists it, if it ever did.

ETA: just called a couple of nearby stores, $9.98 a box for WWB.  .25 cents a round, I don't think so...

I believe the 40rnd value pack is packed especially for Wally-World.  As far as the Q3131:
Ya just gotta know where and what to look for!

You guys probably screwed yourselves by coordinating that countrywide WW ammo buyout back in November.  Wal-mart probably figured that the way it flew off of the shelves in Nov. that they should jack the price up considerably.

Uh excuse me, haven't any of you people noticed that WWB is not the only ammo that has raised in price  since the first of the year. WWB has not raised that much more than the other ammo.

The ammo buyout did not raise the price.
