I am going to mount a scope to a new flat top. I need either A high set of rings or the combo of a riser and regular height rings, which would be best, looking to mount a Weaver T15 or better. Any recommendations as to products ?

Thanks for your time...

I stayed with the mini risers that came with my Bushmaster Varminter, topped it with a Leupold 3.5-10x40 LR M3 using A.R.M.S. #19A (not ACOG) & #21 STANAG Rings. RRA and Armalite make nice one piece moutns that work well. The RRA is cheaper, the Armalite is better quality and is also available in 30mm.

If you don't intend to use iron sights, get the ARMS #36 extended OSR optical sight rail. If you want irons then get the #38 ex, with the #40 fold down already built in. You get a good looking set up and about 1 1/2" beyond the receiver for any real long eye relief scope you may end up with. You also the can use Med. ht. rings like the ones used on the spec ops SPR's. Good shootin, Jack

Depending on the scope, you may have to mount it forward of the rails on the flattop in order to get the shooting position you like and proper eye reliefe. There are the ARMS mounts that 3rdtk mentioned along with GG&G F.I.R.E. GS-1 rail which sells for a little less (also, Quanticao Arms has 20% off for AR15.com people) and even less is the Bushmaster / YHM B.M.A.S. Rail Extension which is $34.95 from Bushmaster. I picked up a B.M.A.S. rail extension from Bushmaster at Camp Perry today. It's not as nice as the A.R.M.S. or GG&G rails, but should still work just fine.

Using an ARMS #5 and Leupold PRW Medium rings, I was able to mount the Nikon Monarch 6x42 out far enough to have both proper shooting position and eye relief without having to add any extended rails...

For my nxs 8-42x56, I am using GG&G GS-1 for forward mounting. For rings I used Leupold Mark4 Superhigh's. This for proper head placement
