In the past I have placed a small piece of plastic tape (like electrical tape)  in side each half ring to protect the scope body from ring marks. Zero held and was consistant and the scope was unmarked. Do y'all think this is a ok idea or not? Has anyone else done this before. I kinda thought I might be the only one. I am about to mount a scope in a one piece Armalite mount and was going to use this process again, unless you guys talk me out of it.
