Has any one chronographed the IMI SS-109 ammunition? If so, what is the velocity, if you don't mind sharing? Also has anyone found a load that duplicates the IMI SS-109 round? Thank you in advance. Sgt. Mike

No but its whith in M855 specs or above

IMI M855 lot number 207/D chronied @ an average(10 shots) of 3085 fps, with an ES of 50, in a Colt 20 inch 1/7 twist chromelined barrel. Q3131A went 3218 fps in the same barrel. HTH.

The following velocities were obtained using an Oehler 35P chronograph. Muzzle velocities were calculated from the instrumental velocities using Oehler's Ballistic Explorer software.

All strings consisted of 10 rounds. Ambient temperatures ranged from 71 to 76 degrees Fahrenheit.

Colt 14.5" M4 barrel with 1:7 twist, 2902 fps, SD=15 fps

Colt 16.1" M4 barrel with 1:9 twist, 2984 fps, SD=13 fps

Colt 20" A2 barrel with 1:7 twist, 3112 fps, SD=18 fps

Thanks for the thorough information. I have alot of boxed IMI M855, but use it rarely. Saving it for whatever may come along.
