Does it work well? I heard awhile ago that 1/12 twist barrels dont like 62gr SS109. How bout 1/9 twist barrels?

Didn't work in my ARs, it keyholed everytime. Switched to a 1:7 barrel on one and a 1:9 on another and both shoot 62/63grn bullets very accurately now.
Both will also fire 55gr bullets accurately.

To be used in a "Combat emergency" only, according to the military. By 100 yards the rounds will be keyholing severely. I proved this with my old Mini-14 and M855 ammo...noticeable keyholes by 50 yards.

Anyone try running M856 thru a 1/12? That bullet is WAY longer than the M855. I'd guess it goes flying like a boomerang!

We tried adcom M855 through my brother's fulton legacy A1 and they all keyholed at 25 yards. I didn't think it would be that bad but I was wrong!!!!!!!!! It WAS that bad. I don't even know if you could hit anything at 100 yards with it.

THATS GOOD IT GIVES THE BULLET MORE STOPPING POWER AND TUMBLING TO PUT THEM DOWN QUICKER I ALWAYS LOAD 62GRAINERS IN MY 1:12 FOR SHTF.

Well hell yeah, that's what the M16/5.56 was designed to do!

I had the same results out of my old Colt SP1. I had one box of SS109 type ammo in my range bag and wanted to see how far out the bullets started keyholeing. I knew the Ammo Oracle stated 100 yards, so I was surprised to see keyholes in the target at only 25 yards. I shot one or two at my 100 yard target, and I have no idea which direction the bullets went.

No, no, no! The M16 was designed to wound you guys know that! You wound one guy and it takes two guys to take care of him, therefore THREE guys are now out of the fight!

How can a bullet that will go in someone's elbow and exit out their big toe not kill instantley?

Yeah, I only have a Colt SP1 with a 1/12 barrel right now so I was wondering. But I'm getting a 1/9 twist M4 sometime this year (need to get lower and then tax stamp for SBR) so I might as well pick some SS109 up. Thanks for the info, guys.
