Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - SPRs with telescoping stocks?

I have always read that you can't use a full length gas tube with a carbine stock.  But I have seen several pictures of some really sweet SPR's and clones lately that have telescoping stocks on them.  
How's that work?

PS It wasn't the "SPRbine" either.  :)
