It will work, I myself use to have a VG mounted on a 4" rail on my M4 handguards, it worked but when I went to my YHM 2pc railed handguard my VG was way more solid.

Depends on what you intend to do with your rifle Jeff... For plinking and range guns it is fine and very lightweight. For anything more there are much better options out there (for more $$$ of course)... Anything mounted to the handguards is going to move around some.

I still haven't got my M4 yet but I noticed my brother's A2 and has alot of movement in the handguards.... That kinda answers my question. I'd rather have a tight no wobble forward grip.
I'll wait till I can afford a good railed handguard. |
