The idea to sign such a petition is a great idea and I would be interested in signing a similar petition - but not this one.
Nothing personal against the person who authored this petition, but this thing is terribly written! IMHO, signing this thing will only help to strengthen the unfortunate stereotype out there about gun owners. That said, I have not been sitting on my hands. I have sent, and continue to send, various letters to GWB, and numerous Reps and Senators stating my opposition to the AWB. The correspondence does not need to be fancy but I would highly recommend it be grammitically sound - just like a resume and cover letter. It will help lend more credibility to your purpose. |

I took a look and copied it to MS WORD and found no spelling errors. I could see that there were capitalizations were there should not be though. Maybe someone should email some corrections...? Just my 2/100ths of a buck. -William (#3134)

I think they will get the picture. I sent a link to all WI Senators and Congressmen.
All they need is to know where you stand. That will accomplish that. I know a lot of WI hunters who wouldn't touch a AR-15 but are very pissed about 10rd handgun magazines. |

A third grader could have written that petition better. There are commas where there should be periods. Half of the words are capitalized that shouldn't be. It should not have a semi-colon after "Dear Mr. President." The word defence should be defense. ETC...

I have signed this petition from other links. Now, everyone needs to start calling their Representatives in Congress and Senate. Call state legislators, govenors and local TV and Radio talk shows. Go out and do some research, that's just so you don't sound stupid. You can be as passionate about a subject as the next, but if you don't have a clue...well you get the picture.
