This is the hero in Nairobi using what certainly appears to be a Holosun with the solar panel. Sorry about the screenshots.

Bad ass!

This was discussed in another thread. It appears to be a Sig Sauer Romeo 4T

It is my understanding that the SIG Romeos are rebadged holosuns.

I kind of want to meet their marketing guys, because they have been killing it at an international level.

Why? They’ve been vetted on certain models. I’m not a big Sig fan. I do have one of the cheap Romeo5 from PSA, does what it’s supposed to do.

In general yes, though with higher QC (on the high end models) and some minor tweaks by SIGs optics staff who are almost all former Leupold employees.

The British Police are using a lot of SIG long guns and the FBI has had good luck with their Romeo 4Ms.

Based on Fed LE testing the higher end SIG RDS are legit.

I’m not saying the sweet Romeo 5 you got for $99 is as good as “Insert optic her” but the one in the Aimpoint price range have been giving Aimpoint performance. Sorry there is no free lunch.

One thing that has been a big selling point for SIG is the ability to switch the reticle to a circle dot like a EO Tech. It doesn’t have the big window but the motion sensor tech works and the battery life is legit. Not quite a micro T but a year or two depending on how ist is used.

But I'm honest ..
I heard more than someone complaining about the series Romeo ...
I also read that perhaps this line go out where they produce Holosun, but I have no certainty and no information ..

I think the SIG micro dots look great on paper

Comparing the features to a Micro T2... You get a 7075 housing vs a 6061 housing and multiple dot options. I might just pick one up to check out the parallax.

One thing that would seal the deal with me is comparability with Aimpoint Micro mounts. From the looks of it, doesn't seem like it does?

They should be compatible, but the height might be different.

Holosun Elite/Military grade models have either 7075 or titanium housing.

I don't see why either is necessary on an optic.

Don't quote me but aren't ACOGs forged 6061, and weren't Aimpoints up until the M5 6061?... Both are well known for their ruggedness.

Nope the ACOG and even the MRO are 7075 forged.
ETA: even Aimpoint is making the m5 out of 7075

The holosuns work with aimpoint mounts, so i would assume the sigs do as well.

A Holosun rebranded red dot AND no buis fuck that. Let's all face it, most .mil guys are NOT gun guys.

This post does not take away from their resolve and capabilities.

Apples and oranges. Just give them aimpoints so they don't have to put their lives anymore than they already do.

You’re right, there is no chance that the SAS has thoroughly vetted their equipment. Clearly they have no idea what they are doing because they might not be “gun guys.”

This. SAS is about as high speed as it gets. I have no reservations that this guy has vetted his equipment.

Originally only the Aimpoint T2 was authorized for use by regional swat, while the Holosun was only for regular agents. That changed due to some regional swat guys liking the option to switch reticles. Apparently the holosuns are not holding up in use by the regional swat teams, so their use in that role is probably going to be discontinued.
