The UTE will work with an Aimpoint or EOTech. The thing to remember is that you are ALWAYS stuck with a fixed BUIS so you cannot run an ACOG or a SCOPE.  I would never buy something that limited my options (as you will ALWAYS change your mind on gear).

I at one time liked front sight towers and fixed rear sights. The reason I thought was if my primary optic went down then I have my BUIS's already up and ready for action. What I was giving up was FOV (just didn't realize it). After taking some carbine courses, I have changed my opinion on this subject and run flip up front and rear sights. I want as little as possible in my FOV. Remember that your Aimpoint/EOTech can be used as a sighting tool to make center mass hits out to 50yds.
