After the post the other day that featured a few pictures from the Springfield Armory Museum archival search website I decided to explore the site a bit. Over 2 hours later I had accumulated a nice collection of original pictures I thought you all might enjoy. Whats really a bummer is that there were way more pictures than this but, not every listing in the search results had its accompanying photo digitized. Maybe one day they will all be online.

Thanks for adding the additional pictures! I love the shot of all the experimental flash hiders, I think some of those should definitely be reproduced. I sure wish I had the skills to do it myself.

Great pics! I especially enjoyed the smashed buttstock following firing the 40mm grenade launcher...Looks like it was set on the ground to fire it (from the damage)...I suppose the users shoulder absorbs a lot of the recoil that would normally shatter the stock...
