I've mounted the components on my standard Bushmaster AR-15 carbine with 11.5 inch barrel, exended to 16 inches with a flash hider. It has the A2 type handle, of course.

The problem is: I cannot see any portion of the front iron sights in the Eotech picture.

The Eotech is mounted above the hand guard.

Does the ARMS 39A2 require any adjustments in order to see the front iron sight?

Is it necessary to buy a new front iron sight?

Thanks for your help.

If there were such a thing you would need a corresponding rear sight.

Now there is a funny image.

Thanks, KevinB.

I understand you to say that the ARMS 39A2 does not permit co-witness, when used with the Eotech.

It doesn't matter much to me, but I just figured some dumb mistake was made during the assembly.

I can't even see the front iron sight at all.

Thanks for your help,

Bill

Kevin, thanks again!

We should be all set now.

I mounted it just above the hand guard, rather than on top of the A2 handle.

Actually, I much prefer it above the handle, but apparently it should always be closer to the bore, whenever possible.

Actually, before putting this to rest, is there any reason I should not mount the Eotech 512 on top of the A2 handle, using the ARMS 39A2?

I've always heard a conventional scope should be low, near the bore.

Does that logic still apply to Eotech?

Thanks,

Bill
