Try slipping something thin in-between the takedown pin and the detent pin. A feeler gauge blade or maybe a razor blade, but be careful!

I use one of the flat bladed small screwdrivers from one of the eyeglass repair kits. They come with a really small bladed screwdriver that fits in the detent slot just right.

The best way is to use a 1/16" punch and insert it into the hole in the pivot pin (through the pivot pin it self) and press against the detent pushing it down into the lower and slowly turn the pivot pin and punch while keep the detent compressed, once you have the detent out of the detent groove of the pin, then pull out the punch, and then remove the pivot pin pulling it free from the lower (carefully catch the detent and spring).

I keep a big catfish hook (it's bent to one side) with in my shooting box to hold the detent pin back. It's a good "tool" to have around for a few reasons.

Take yourself a section of banjo string and wrap it around that critter.
