I got my LaRue FF rail today and managed to get off the FFH on my RRA and removed the taper pins from the FSB without problem. I also removed the roll pin on the gas tube and oiled everything with Kroil early this morning to make it go easier.

It already came with a YHM FF rail so I'm replacing it with the LaRue unit. I am having trouble getting the FSB off though. Any suggestions on how to get it off? I can't get to the gas tube to remove it thanks to the YHM and turn the FSB on the barrel to loosen it up. I tried clamping the FSB into a vise and placing some wood against the front of the barrel and hitting that with a hammer but the FSB is solid. Any suggestions on removing this without sending it out? Thank you.

Never mind. I soaked every corner of the FSB with Kroil and in 30 minutes took the plastic insert for the upper receiver action block and hammered the FSB down towards the muzzle on the angled portion in a circular fashion (since it was angled) and it came right off. Easy as pie, thanks anyway.

good job...and that's why god invented the rubber mallet hehe.  Kroil is the shizzle when it comes to stuf like this.

I had a VERY stubborn FSB on a Model 1 barrel last week.  My little plastic bench hammer didn't do shit to start with, so I had to use some trusty black rubber love on it to help it along.  When I got done, I took some emory cloth on the barrel...it's still tight, but at least now I can get in off and on with my bench hammer and not the mallet.

BTW, which YHM tube is it, and how much you want for it?

It's thier FF "Four Rail Forearm", not the 2 piece and not the light weight, just the regular FF one that RRA uses. If you want it I'll let you have it for $86 shipped ($6 to cover the shipping).
