On mine... just tighten the nut on the bottom of the stock and push the button like you were going to change positions and pull it off...

thats what i thought...but it doesn't come off :(

Pull the cam lever all the way down (not just caming it). This will pull the detent out of the tube holes, and up past the end of the receiver extension end track stop lip (you'll see what I mean with the butt stock off the tube).
