I am thinking of refinishing my AR-15 in dark earth but am concerned about the plastic furnature (i.e. buttstock, handguard, and pistol) will the paint wear off or be just as strong a finish as on the metal parts. BTW I was thinking of using the brownell teflon/moly paint.

I use Norrells, and from everything I've read and heard from other people, it holds up much much better than the Brownells Moly Teflon. That being said, it shouldn't be any worse on the plastics than it is on the metal portions of the weappon.

Make sure you clean, degrease, and preheat before you spray. Also remember to use multiple light coats if you want it to look halfway decent.

Lastly, people are always complaining about the nozzles clogging, so make sure you get that angle covered when you order.

Good luck, and make sure you take pictures.

how long you heat the plastic?

Lower the temp to 250 degrees and put it in for 90 minutes. At least that is what I do with Norrells......
