Surely with the size of this forum, at least a couple of folks have wondered about this, and hopefully someone knows the answer.  As someone who collects guns in general and is an 03 C&R FFL, I have to keep records for potential ATF inspection (but even if you don't, it's a damn good idea to do it anyway), it's getting cumbersome to just keep it all on MSWord, especially since I now have AR build disease and want to keep a list of all the parts that go into each rifle, but none of the gun record keeping software seems to be built for someone who wants to list all those parts.  Anyone have any ideas as to any such software that has options or is configurable for including parts lists for each build?

Thanks to anyone who can help with this somewhat off the wall question.

Excel or access.

You can do a ton with both.

Well, my wife told me the same about Excel, and she's kind of an expert in it as she's an accountant in the IT dept. of her company, but I'm not sure I want her help, since she'd wind up knowing just how much all those parts that go into a rifle add up to, lol.  That said, perhaps I should buy that Excel for Dummies book and just learn myself.

Perhaps you should take a fishing trip?

ETA:  Otherwise, Excel - or Open Office, for free.  Spreadsheets are not that hard.

If you have a kid that is old enough, he/she may be able to teach you.  I also took an Microsoft Office class at my local Community College when I was still in school.  Excel is very easy to pick up on when you know what it is capable of doing.
