I am going to use a sling mounting plate but was hoping someone might have an idea for filling the old gap where the original A2 sling mount went......see arrow....and I am talking about filling it with the mount removed (fill gap to match rest of stock.....Thanks in advance

Brownell's ACCU GEL bedding compound.  I did it to my 6 position bush master.  You can't even tell the notch was there.  It is sandable.  So lay it on let it set then sand smoth.  If you have low spots reapply as needed.
