I have a Bushmaster M4A3 and am wanting to put an Aimpoint Comp M3 on top of the receiver. Can you tell me what kind of mount for the Aimpoint and what kind of rear BUIS I will need for this. I am wanting to use the front sight that is already on the weapon. In other words, what do I need to make all of this cowitness. Thanks for your help.

Do you want "perfect" co-witnessing or the irons in the lower third
of the Aimpoint window? I recommend the second, and for this the LaRue
standard height CCO68 mount is one of the best options. If you consider
adding an Aimpoint 3x sometime in the future, the LaRue cantilever gives
you the space to do so. For a BUIS, I would look at the Troy folding one
or the LaRue fixed. If you want to run optics or the 3x, the folding style is the
better choice since you don't have to dismount it.

For pics how the various options look, there is a pic thread under "Ar Discussions".

Here is on by HKocher, with LaRue cantilever mount & BUIS:

Have fun!

ARMS #40 for the BUIS, and the ARMS #22M68 w/ the cantilever spacer for your Aimpoint.

The vast majority of folks around here will argue for 40 pages over what the term "co-witness" means and here you come along and ask this?????

What are ya, a ?

The set-up I suggested above places the red-dot of the Aimpoint atop your front-sight post.

I refer to this as co-witness.

I haven't a f$#king clue what your asking.

sorry, I mean: wich mounts put the irons dead-on-center of the Aimpoint, and wich mounts put the irons in the lower third of the Aimpoint's field of view? Of course this does not affect the actual position of the dot. I am refering to the two most common types of co-witness: lower third or center.

I hope, you understand what I mean.
