I just got my first AR. It is a Colt Model LE6920. I have never shot an AR before, and not sure what I should be doing first before going to the range, lubing, breaking in the barrel, etc. Any suggestions? Thx.

CLEAN IT! before going to the range.

i don't mean to sound negative or anything,

but....

do you even know how to operate it?

clear a jam, etc?

just curious, don't see many posts like yours.

I am learning how to operate it right now before I go, which prob won't be for another week or so. It was caked externally with oil of some sort, and most is gone now. It's operation seems pretty straight forward, and yes I can clear a jam. here
Thx.

excellent! learn all you can before you go to the range.

i was wondering. it's a LE only ar, are you a LEO?

if so, and you say you haven't shot an AR before, then is your dept just now allowing you to own them?

if you're not a LEO, then you are ?????????
