Are the C Products 6.8 20rd mags marked 6.8?  How do you tell that it is a 6.8 mag?

Randal posted in this forum a couple months ago that he had C Products mags for 5.56, 6.8 and 6.5. The only difference was the color of the follower.

I've got the older style curved 18 round mags and the newer straight body 17 round mags.  Neither are marked 6.8 on the mag body.  The curved style has 6.8 and magpul on the follower.  The straight body has no markings on the follower just SS on the mag body.

"How do you tell that it is a 6.8 mag?"

Measure the side to side distance between the feed lips?

Wouldn't 6.8s be wider?

Scratch 6.8 on the side of the magazine with a butter knife. The magazine is made of stainless steel. It is much thinner than typical AR aluminum mags. Also, the two grooves on each side of the 6.8 mags are more narrow than the 5.56 mags. The magazine lips are shaped differently, too. As another member noted, SS is stamped into the side of the 6.8 mag. Hope my rambling helped.

there are 3 channels running down the side of a regular mag are deeper than a 6.8 mag. especially the 2 rear ones. they look more like folds than channels on the 6.8 mag.
