Hello everyone, This last sunday My shootin buddy and I went to throw some lead downrange.He is running a Bushy Dissapator pictured here.

Basic rundown of his rifle Vltor clubfoot stock, YHM lightweight 2 peice rifle snapon handguards,YHM lightweight BUIS,EOTECH.
My setup as follows Bushy Dissapator, Vltor clubfoot, YHM freefloat rail, YHM BUIS, GGG cantilever mountw/M2 aimpoint. I also was sporting my shurefire M900A pictured here.

Now down to the question, His rifle recoil is like sweet love taps, mine on the other hand, felt like a mule kick the only diffrence I could come up is the ammo. I was shooting IMI 55grn lot 00223/c, He was shooting LC 55grn lot 093. Like a dumbass I didnt trade any ammo to see if there were any diffrences in the way it would recoil, we were having way to much fun to problemsolve such a minor issue, but it is driving me insane thinking about why mine is such a hard kicker. Baffels me is IMI loaded HOT, my rifle weighs heaver for shure, I thought it might be that but somebody I think ColonelKlink from here said
"additional mass should dampen perceived recoil". So there I am Anybody outhere have any Ideas on this?
Here are more pics from the range that day.

Lumpy style:

Awsome pictures!

My response;
I really do not think that the 5.56x45 has that much kick to begin with. It is very managable and still packs quite a little wollop thats on of the reasons so many people enjoy the platform. My only guess would be what you said, the ammo. Or perhaps your buffer tube spring is a little less than his?

Ammo makes a huge difference (for the sensitive type)  Try some wolf/ XM193 comparisons....but then I go and shoot my 300WSM and then the 5.56 will seem like a pellet gun.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not too sensitive the recoil is not a problem. I just thought it was weird that there was such a noticable diffrence between the two rifles.I also forgot to mention we bolth run H-buffers. Thanks for the input. HKUSP_40hug.gif

Great looking rigs! The Dissy configuration has always intrigued me, although I've never owned one From a neophyte's point of view at least it would appear that the Dissy has an awful lot going for it.

Quick question about the Surefire if you don't mind: With the light being mounted so far back is there a problem with the beam pattern, since there's so much rail and forend hanging over it?

Thanks in advance for your insight, and for posting the pics!!

CJan, Thanks I really enjoy the Dissy if you get the chance grab one you'll love it. I see no point in having a 16" upper and not enjoying the full sight radious of the 20" rifle.he
