I'm trying to find some options for a rail mounted light for my recent build-it-yourself, and was hoping for your input. I've seen all kinds of lights, but I'm thinking I want something with a push button tail piece, and the ability to switch it to a pressure pad. Any suggestions?

I recently picked up the Mag Tech flashlight from Maglite and it's awesome...320 lumens, runs on 2 CR123 batteries. Only problem is I don't believe it has the option to turn it into a pressure pad setup. Surefire seems like the best bet for buying a flashlight and then being able to convert it later if you wish.

PLS-1 Mount, used 6P, LED Drop-in Malkoff or Lumens factory.

In order of what I would do, depending on personal preference and money.

• Surefire X300 Ultra mounted at 12:00, in front of front sight
• Surefire fury (single level) mounted at 1:00 or 11:00 in offset mount
• Used Surefire G2L or 6PL duct taped or zip-tied onto the hand guards or front sight.

I currently run the later; I hate to admit it, but it works damn well.

The first two are recommend by two very well-respected instructors, and I plan to buy the X300 Ultra soon.

I'm really interested in the Inforce WML.

Surefire M300A meets your criteria, and works extremely well for my needs. Mine is mounted on a Gear Sector offset.

Surefire M300A or M600C with an offset mount like the LaRue LT752, Gear Sector scout, Thorntail (IWC). Most of the light mounts put them in the 1:30 position. They come with the clicky tail cap and also a 7" tape switch. You could also purchase the Surefire SR07 tape switch that gives you momentary and constant on modes. I'm not too sure what your budget is but Surefire is one of the gold standards for weapon lights.

Here's mine. Surefire M600C with the SR07 switch and a Thorntail SBR scout mount. LaRue Index Clips help with the wire management and keeps everything low profile.

Don't mind my Primary Arms Micro red dot. Saving for an Aimpoint T1 Micro.

I've got 2 of them and I think they are pretty good units.
