I use to get 1/4 inch and less groups at 100 yards with my Savage 222rem and a 35 dollar walmart Scope 3x9x40 simmons. I sold that rifle wish I still had it.

Not sure about the 16 and 18" but my 24" RRA upper easily will shoot 3/4 MOA with BHBB 52gr. MHP.

I have the 16 and it shoots way better than me. But if I really try hard, don't burp or fart, haven't had too much coffee, etc., it will easily hold sub MOA at 100. I suspect if you put it in one of them vice things it would pretty much use the same hole.
